VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We strongly believe in the valuable role that volunteers play in transforming the lives of our members. As little as one hour per week is all it takes to have a positive impact on a child’s life. We offer volunteer opportunities for adults to work directly with youth as mentors and tutors, and by providing career guidance, internships and college preparation support. We also welcome corporations seeking one day, project-based volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can get involved through event committees or by joining our Board of Directors.

Internships: If you are a college student, consider meeting your internship needs at the Boys & Girls Club of Story County. We offer positions that will challenge you and help develop your skills. We offer internships in the areas of: program, marketing, public relations, resource development, administrative resources, and human services.

The Boys & Girls Club of Story County is very serious about our responsibility for the youth in our care. We are proud of our excellent reputation as a safe haven for youth, a reputation that has been earned through more than 46 years of effective service to hundreds of thousands of children and their families in Story County.  The Boys & Girls Clubs of America has been a national leader in adopting significant and proactive child protection guidelines and processes. Therefore, all volunteers must undergo a thorough screening process that includes:

• Criminal offender Record Information (CORI)
• Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI)
